Can You Still Play X-Com?

That is a question I ask myself a couple times a year. Can I still play X-Com, cause if there is a will there is a way. Finding a copy of an old game can be a hassle especially if you misplace the media or can no longer read it. Abandonia however is home to many DOS games these days. If you look there you can find the Windows XP version of X-Com and the DOS version of X-Com.

Now if you are twisted like me you like the DOS version better than the hacked up Windows version. What do you do now, how can you get DOS to run on a machine that has little or no trace of DOS on it? This is where DOSBox a x86 emulator comes in handy! You can download this nifty program on Windows, Mac, and Linux to play all your classic DOS games once again. I highly suggest you use a GUI assisted version such as the one I use on my Macbook Pro, DOS Boxer. Now playing your old games is possible again, though just warning you in case you forgot, you will get the entire past experience including the crashes. Makes you really appreciate how stable everything is in the modern day.
