ButtonMashers - Episode 2

GameZombie, your friendly neighborhood forum lurkers, scours the Internet in search of the best posts to the hottest gaming news topics of the week.

In this Episode:
1. Starcraft 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Blizzards hit game, has a lot to live up to.

2. Valves Steam Cloud continues the company’s innovative reputation by providing the ability to save all of your personal settings on an outside server.

3. A study out of Iowa State claims that playing violent video games increases aggression.

7-11 Early WoLK Sales

Not that I care, but seriously isn’t this the greatest thing ever to happen in the video game industry? I mean you can walk in and actually just buy what you want before the servers go online? It is not a big deal from my point of view and is certainly not as bad as selling Gears of War 2 early which offers content offline.

My idea is, if the game is done, the game is done. Sell it when you have it to sell. A lot of us don’t really care about launch day hype or launch day parties, as we are just gamers that work all day long and just want their game for the weekends when they are not trying to earn a living. By earning a living I mean buying video games of course.

The guys over at 1up are awesome. Rather than explain how awesome they are they made of video of how awesome they are walking to 7-11s and grabbing early copies of WoLK.

Email with Voice and Video - Gmail

Strange when some instant message clients don’t have voice or video but it seems now your email does if you use Gmail. Announced is a 2mb download for Gmail that allows you to, on addition to already chatting on Gmail’s chat client, you can do voice and video as well now. Compatible with all major web browsers this is a must for me. Though I’ll have to test it out with someone… hum.

Google just added voice and video chat capabilities to Gmail, the perennially in beta web mail program. It uses a special web browser plug-in available for PC and Mac, which requires Firefox, IE, Chrome, and a camera. The plug-in only weights 2MB.

Punch-Out Wii

Finally some awesome Wii and Punch-Out news! On my blog I was actually talking about playing the original NES Punch-Out then this gets announced on the same day! Enough with my rambling here is some pictures I stole from over at 1up and a short trailer video from YouTube. Also there was no information on gameplay or gameplay mechanics yet they are just teasing us.

Crazy Japanese Rubber Band Gun

Based on the idea of a gun from Metal Gear Solid 4 this crazy cool rubber band gun is solid stainless steal! Which gun this is based on I have no idea but it looks amazing. Watching the youtube video shows off the gun’s accuracy and other features such as a laser sight and a led light built in as well.

The first question that crossed my mind was “where can I buy this fine piece of bad ass fun?” and sadly it is a personally made item so far. The plans are not secret however if you wish to try and replicate it.

Check out the video below.

Boxhead Zombies

I am a huge fan of killing zombies.  Sadly it is really had to find real zombies as they do not exsist yet in this world. Often I turn to video game to fill this gap in my life. While waiting for Left 4 Dead I turned my the good people over at CrazyMonkey Games to fill my needs. Boxhead The Zombie Wars.

If you are into popping into a zombie killing fest for a few minutes to several hours this is exactly what you are looking for. However it is limited to the feeling you are killing lego men after a while.

Un-boxing Spore Galactic Edition

Air, thick or think?

If you are into science, humor, and Mythbusters you will love this. Depending on how dense the air you are speaking through is you can change the pitch of your voice. I’ve discovered this long ago, but this video is awesome. I bet he was light headed after that.

2 Days Till Spore

Thought I would get in the spirit for the Launch of Spore since I have the Galactic Edition pre-ordered.
