Apple a day
With WWDC finished people are now talking about Apple and their impact on the business world. While my business has no dependencies on Apple’s products my personal life and entertainment preferences does big time. I didn’t own anything made by Apple till a year ago when I took a huge leap and purchased my Macbook Pro cause I wanted a stable laptop that could run Windows XP, which I could accomplish with Boot Camp. Love my MBP like it was my child, especially after updating to Leopard. (speaking of WWDC check out the link for Snow Leopard).
Did I own a iPod? No, didn’t even have an mp3 player at the time, though soon after I was using my phone as an mp3 player, stupid media phones. Few months ago I purchased an iPod, and yes I love it and I am addicted to podcasts.
I have my iPod attached to myself almost every waking moment, so I am listening to as much information as I can while I go through my day. That means when I am not listening to a podcast I am listening to an audio book. One of my major problems is video podcasting cause I have to stop what I am doing and visually watch them, while audio podcasts I can do anything but carry on a conversation cause I’ll need to listen to who I am talking to so I can respond. Some podcasts need the video, such as the 1UP Show, and some don’t, like Web Alert. I know video is great, and news shows like Web Alert look better with video but there is no reason for it to have video. If anyone reads this post and they like to record with video please rethink it, garage band has a nice time line picture feature you can use if you are specifically recording for iTune / iPod users.
