Bionic Commando Rearmed [Review]

I played and have been playing the original Bionic Commando for the past couple of week on and off. I certainly wasn’t expecting the remake to be suddenly published without being prepared for it. Then it was, and I was sitting there saying to myself “You do not need to be playing yet again game you do not have time for” and I was wrong. I logged onto Capcom’s digital distribution website and purchased the game for PC for fifteen bucks. 251 megabytes later I had Bionic Commando Rearmed.

Writing a review of this game can certainly be a hard task as I would want to point out all the great things compared to the original. I will not do that, however I will point out what makes this an excellent 2D game.

Gameplay
The wire mechanic with the lack of jumping makes this game’s gimmick solid. You are constantly trying to get better at this game and do better tricks. You cannot just sit down and master it but also you are not beaten to death by controls that are too hard to use. This means you will want to use a gamepad and if you do not own one I suggest buying one. Selecting easy makes this game a breeze but higher difficulties will make your fingers bleed making the game playable to all skill levels.

Combat is challenging making you rely on skillful use of your weapons while not worrying about running out of ammo. Different types of weapons along with the claw at the end of your wire keeps your options for combat extremely open and diverse. On a side note you start off with only one weapon.

Music
Not much to say about this one. Music is freaking awesome with remixed splendor throughout the entire game with original content as well tucked in somewhere. I highly suggest anyone that enjoys remixed 8 bit music to buy this album on iTunes.

Retro
Despite the removal of references to Nazis and to Hitler (The Leader) the game remains almost completely the same. Almost means that they changed what must be changed to make the game better. One of the biggest changes is when you get a Game Over it does not restart you to the title screen, so a casual gamer can now sit down and play through the game. Other changes include creative reinventions of some boss battles, which are awesome, and some dialog changes. One of the changes I enjoyed it the puzzle you have to complete to hack the enemy comms.

Modern
With the addition of fifty challenge levels, multiplayer, and co-op this game will keep you busy long beyond what you invest into it. For fifteen bucks I expected a lot less and I certainly see a lot more.

I suggest if you own a Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or PC to purchase this game. This is one of the best games I have played this year and I think you will agree. With the price tag of either $10 or $15 you have no excuse not to buy it.

Best Review Ever. [Humor]

I’ve been reading a lot of Apple Wireless Keyboard reviews. Mainly cause as much as I would like to love all Apple products, some just suck bad. The Might Mouse is the reason I have to be careful anymore. Another reason is I use Windows on my MBP and my hardware will have to work with that too.

I ran across this review for the Apple Wireless Keyboard though and it blew my mind!

What I Think Is Needed [WoW Add-ons]

In a game such as World of Warcraft where the development team that runs it can be easy to clutter with various add-ons when they support such a feature almost without restriction. The question you should be asking at this point is how little you should be running and now how much you should be running, add-on wise. After all you are killing your CPU with all those silly things you stuff into your game.

So here is my current list of must have add-ons. Simple, clean and lite. Feel free to argue and suggest others as I am not making a definitive list.

Auctioneer
If anything could solve the problem with the Auction Hall it is this add-on. Most people who use an auction hall for the first time have no idea what they are doing. At this point the add-on can search and suggest everything you need to do from price to time for items you place up for auction, making it easy to learn the finer points afterward. For those advanced users which post tons of items you can set it up to automate these steps the way you want or on the setting that watches the realm market.

Baud Bag
Why in the world you need a add-on for this is just silly. It makes all your bags just one bag and highlights special items. There are also some finer features to it such as guild bank and such as well. Though this all in one is clean and simple and work excellent and I currently recommend it above other similar add-ons. WoW should just make these features part of the game honestly.

QuestHelper
I’ll skip describing this and just post a quote from the instructions

“Compiles a list of way points for the quests in your quest log, and sorts them so as to minimize the distance between them, and so that they happen in the correct order.

Which is to say, it tells you how to complete all your quests while walking as little as possible.”

TomTom
A GPS for WoW. Not only that but it works with QuestHelper! This is a must for people who get lost easily or people who have done all the quests already before and just need an arrow to point the way. This is a must for me cause I get lost very easily.

EquipCompare
On the go equipment comparing. This solves the problem of opening your character panel to compare your equipment. After you use a add-on like this is it hard to imagine the game without it. Yet again one of those simple little features WoW should just add.

Arc Hud
The one add-on that I could do without. Although I find it useful and fun to use. It simply surrounds your character in a simple HUD that displays heath of you and your target, your mana, stamina, rage, and various other things with some other excellent features.

There is my list, I hope you find it helpful in your journeys. ^.^

Omnitech Flexible Keyboard [Review]

Wanted!

I was first recommended to watch Wanted by a random person who watched Timur Bekmambetov’s other films he had directed. I had no idea what I was watching, no idea about the comics, no idea about the director, and no idea about the actors. I feel this was the best way to walk into this movie cause I knew there was going to be some good action and nothing else.

The movie was extremely good with action sequences that I’ve never seen or dreamt of before. While the acting was as good as the action cause I never once thought of the actors as acting. As a comic book movie I was disappointed in the lack of comic feeling for most of the movie, though the loss of the comic book feeling made the movie that much more exciting for me.

Plot is very important to every movie, and this one had a good one. Nothing out of the ordinary but good enough to keep you on your toes. Sadly I saw through this as the clues were beyond obvious to me, but this didn’t impact my view of the movie even though I would been more excited if I didn’t figure it out till the last second. The twists were good, and key to a good action slash revenge film.

Style used in the movie was great with weapons and ammo with a personal style unique to the assassin that was wielding them. This was beyond anything the part of the movie that screamed comic book to me. Bullets with the words goodbye written on them are only found in comic books in my opinion.

If you love action, love guns, and love assassins this is the movie for you. With bullet time thrown in there it is one kick ass movie.
