For The Love

If you have not heard about the Love MMO you might want to pay attention as it’s development has now progressed far enough for there to be a trailer of it. This one man creation has grown a lot since I last heard.

Love is easy

Love is played form a first person view, because you should see the world not yourself. The controls of Love are designed to be a simple as possible to let you engage more in the story. Not dumbed down, but purified. All the mechanics designed to act as story devices to help the narrative. Each server has about 200 people registered, but as the same people comeback again and again you can make friends and get story continuity. With so few players you can get to know most of them and you can matter to the world. When you go to play Love its not just to see what is going to happen, its to see what has happened since your last play session too

Understanding exactly what Love is isn’t easy. The concept to new and very inventive. If you want to learn more pop on over to their About page and News page. If you are interested in a trailer they have one over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

DRM Killing Me Slowly

I am very pissed off with a lot of other gamers about DRM. To the point it is starting to kill my Spore experience. Just over this weekend I couldn’t play Spore cause it “NEEDED INTERNET CONNECTION” for some bizarre reason. Sadly I go and buy another EA game at the end of the month, but I have to tell you I have no fear of stealing games from EA anymore cause paying for this crap is not worth it.

Over at Techdirt they have a fun little article on DRM with a rather poetic quote.

Money can’t buy you love, but love can bring you money. In software the only sustainable way to earn money is by first creating love, and then hoping that some folks want to demonstrate that love with their dollars….

I put my money in love, and DRM is clearly hate.
