Nintendo Vs The Internet

Back in 2007 I became excited when they announced the Nintendo DS Browser that I could use in my Nintendo DS to connect and browse the internet. After a while I never saw it in any stores and came to the conclusion that no one care about it and neither should I. Nintendo has been doing the internet wrong for a long time now and has improved with the DS and the Wii but they still overall fail to satisfy the American market. Without picking apart the friend codes and such, you can go to other websites for that, I am just asking why? I don’t know why Nintendo has to approach the internet in such a super safe way to the point it is useless in most cases. One of my biggest strikes against the DS and the Wii, though they are amazing products.

What caught my eye today was Twitter on the DS. Suddenly I was excited cause I love Twitter and I love my DS! Then just as fast I realized I didn’t care to do anything on my DS aside from play games thirty minutes to an hour at a time. Certainly I didn’t want to use a 3rd party application to attempt to use my Twitter account. I would just use the DS Browser instead and I still wouldn’t do that.

I find it intriguing that people are still trying to develop 3rd party applications for the DS and beyond that trying to use the Wi-Fi features primary.
