Meanwhile my flash web camera setup seems to be working well and the setup for a podcast seems to be completed as well. Not sure when I am recording but I should have some extra spare time since my car is in the shop getting repaired and inspected during this week. Been playing Metal Gear 2 and extremely enjoying it though I need to put it down and play a little more Age of Conan soon.

Been uploading my new pictures I’ve been taking with my Nikon the past few days. Today I got 3 new lenses and a wireless remote so now I can take some new kinds of pictures so I am excited! More to come soon, See ya.

First Look at Age of Conan

While my experience in Age of Conan is small so far and I’ve only covered a fraction of the plot and yet I am still under level 20. I have however enjoyed my game play so far a lot more than I have in many other MMOs. I used to play Asheron’s Call which in my opinion was out of control and fun. With no major company hanging over their shoulders the developers were able to create a game they wanted to play rather than what someone though we would like to play. This is the feeling I found Age of Conan had, blood, boobs, and raunchy humor. Also while others love the limited features of an MMO, I don’t, and getting yourself stuck and finding random bugs and wildly running around swinging your sword is some of my favorite things to do and AoC has them all. While the combat system is something you have to experience before you can truly understand and ever after that it will have to grow on you as it seems to be messy and wild at first glance. After a while you learn there is a pattern, skill, and strategy to it all even though you are a barbarian and you can just go at it while banging on the keyboard. Right now I am captured by the plot more than anything, while the graphics and music are awesome as well.

As for problems. I’ve had my complaints, the chat system seems messy to me or I haven’t figured it out enough yet but I’ve spent most of my time in the OOC (out of character) channel. Graphics are super over powered which makes me sad that most of my friends will NOT be able to play this game on their average computer systems and will have to upgrade. Other than that you cannot expect to play this game on anything besides broadband as this game’s patches are HUGE.

My main problem came when I put in the DVD to install, this is nothing but my own fault and I had a 32 gigabyte partition for Windows XP and the game needs 27 gigs to run, not to mention you should have a few extra gig for virtual memory and other programs. So I spent the first day of my purchase of AoC totally redoing my setup, something I’ve never done for a game before and people watching me working so hard for this game said to me openly “Is the game that good? Cause if it isn’t I would be pissed off if I were you.” and at that point I didn’t know but I knew I was at least enjoying the challenge.
